So i am looking to make some updates to hub’s wardrobe at his request. He wants a vest to wear with jeans and i am not finding a lot at my local department stores. Any ideas what stores carry a variety? A guy was featured at Oprah makeover shows wearing that and it looked really awesome.
I also need a casual coat for him, not the formal kind but something that he can wear on jeans etc when its not so cold outside. I hope you guys know what i am talking about: the coat needs to be like the suit type coat not winter coat but it has to be casual.
for a coat to wear with jeans, try macys. Not sure of his build and style, kenneth cole, calvin klein and INC stuff tends to be more fitted.
with summer approaching, I would stay away from velvets, heavy wools, corduroys look at cottons, linens, tropical weight wool and you should get 2, one in a light colour, and one in dark. darker one for evenings, lighter one for daytime. dont go for something too dressy because it can look odd with jeans, however..here is the catch, the trendy ones may go out of style sooner. it depends on personal style etc. so if you do get something more trendy..dont spend a lot of money on it, because you are thinking a few years as the lifespan, if you look for something more plain, then it is usable for a longer period and you can think about spending more on it.
get a natural (not white) or light tan in linen, works great with jeans and white shirts for daytime. and a black or dark grey cotton one for the eves.
gap and banana republic have good stuff off and on, and same for express, H&M to give you different price ranges.
