I’m surprised I was unable to find a good thread on it. And I know it can go in Life 2…but umm let’s see what the mods do.
So, my question is, how many of you have seen mom, sisters, aunts or other women go through menopause? How and what were their symptoms? Did it change your mom, for example, somehow? Like personality-wise? How long did it last for them? Did they end up taking some kind of herbal remedy for it? Or did they take medication, or even HRT? Or did they tough it out? Was it an easy transition for them? And also, if you see your mother go through it, and it wasn’t a fun time for them, how do you see yourself coping through with it in the future?
women usually gain weight . taking medication , not necessarily , depends on the health of the person , also on the mensurational cycle. some change in their behaviours as well
she asked if we know anyone who went through menopause and I personally stay away from aunties
on a serious note: they get hot flashes/more sweatin/amenorrhea for about 6-12 months can make sure u have a menopause/ some vaginal atropy . . like dryness in that area/ anxiety / irritability and sometimes insomnia
well i know what the symptoms and what not are. i wanna know the psychological affects of it as well, and what other options there are for it besides HRT and eating tons of soya.
Havent seen anyone go through it in my family. Not even my mum, they took her ovaries out when i was only about 5 or 6 (cant remember y). Therefore, i have no clue what kinda psychological affects they go through.
My mum started to go through it at a really bad time (well for me anyway.....)
She started going through it immediately after I got engaged and I would say that she has has just come through it completely.................thats like 6 years.....
It has been a horrible time.............nobody understood her including me and as far as I know all the problems that have been present between me and her are as a cause of it....
Mum didn't take the HRT............she went through it cold turkey!!
My auntie (mum's cousin) took the HRT and she said it was hell....I wasn't living near her at the time so don't know...
On a serious note...there are also all those women who go through the peri-menopause...where they go through it early (some as early as 18/19.........
Oh and what about the "male menopause" anyone admitting to that one...or are men just grumpy anyway!!!
