Meningitis shot for Umrah

We are planning for our umrah on our trip to Pak this summer. One of the requirements is to get a meningitis shot. I called the Health Dept and they do not offer it. They refered me to the doctor’s office and the Doc is charging $150 and told me the insurance does not cover it :eek:
Anybody has any experience on how I can get a meningitis shot and not pay 150 bucks!!! That is just too expensive!! :mad:

I wish Noor :bummer: I’ve never paid that much for a shot! It is usually around 20-30 bucks here too!

Getting a certificiate is irresponsible. What happens if you do contract meningitis during Umrah?

If you go to school, check with your university health services and it should be no more than $75 or atleast that's how it is here at our school.

You better get the shot done for whatever the price it is, because it's just worth it. :-)

hey....me lucky:) .......here u get the shot free of charge during the hajj & umra season.....................& if u go during the offseason....u need not get any shot......... :)

Gemini - yeah I'm going to check w/ the univ. health center too and see what price they quote. 150 just seems a bit too steep. I am sure they are making at least 60-70% profit off of it. sigh
