if there are two people who used to love eachother but then they had bad breakup .. like hurt each other really bad and almost got married somewhere else but theyre coming back together because they know they wont be able to love anybody else the way they did eachother and the seperation is making them both really sad .. but how do you deal with all the hurt they caused eachother ? .. what if one of them is the one who proceeded the break .. how will she deal with the guilt of the hurt she caused him .. he is broke and so is she but she feels really guilty because of what seemed to her like a tough situation she left .. but now they have to get married to eachother because they cant live without eachother .. they wont like anybody else but after all this that happened how can you get over this and be happy and confident in the relationship again ? .. ( i dont know if this post make sense )
Re: mending
If they haven't moved past the issues, then I think they should talk it out before getting married (without turning it into a blame game). It may, in this case, bring about a feeling of closure and also lead to a discussion of how conflicts should be managed in their relationship and what works/what doesn't/what the expectations are. I don't think it's healthy to enter a marriage when, amidst all the love, you still feel a "grudge" toward your partner.
Re: mending
let me know when you've figured out the answer to this question. one may try to forgive the past mistakes, but forgiving is different from forgetting. as long as you cant forget it, getting over it can be immensely difficult.
at the very least, the onus should be on the one that initiated the break.
Re: mending
I dont think past hurts matter as long as the couple understands they need to be together anyway. The process of hurting each other, unintentionally* will never stop in life. Its natural. But if one of them is in habit of hurting the other i.e. mistrusting them and being insecure and all that, maybe that needs to be dealt before any further advancement since it will lead to an unhappy and unfruitful life eventually.
