Hi Guys,
Im stuck, i need some advice, I’ve set up a business in mendhi, in Uk-Most clients call up frm London. sometimes outside…As im getting married i will be living in PK-lahore inshAllah, but i wont be doing mendhi over there.
Now ive put in a bit of money into the business, clients are coming in, and website is set up and portfolio is made etc…Now i dont know wot to do with the business…i dont know anyone who would carry it on… it would be a shame to just shut it down… any suggestions?

I would contact desi salons and ask them if they are willing to pay a goodwill fee and have the enquiries re-directed to them.
In fact, grow the site....the beauty of ecommerce is that you can do it from virtually anywhere in the world. Turn it into a referral site where someone can logon and be directed to mehndi artists all over the world.

Now there is an idea, but for that i would have to brush up on my programming skill-s website skills....plus with starting a new life in a new country its kinda gonna be difficult....

no....have someone program it for you....and who's to say that you have to have the site do the re-direct automatically....
have the site send enquiries to your email box.....then sort them individually and forward to the most appropriate salon....

well i will give it a try to the salon i go to, but I'm not sure how and who would be up for this....
does anyone know how easy it is to create a website with a shopping cart? maybe i can sell stuff....as thats my backup plan, if i dont find a girl who wants to take over my business...

Btw....you don't have to change the name.....just rediret the visitors that come to the site to hirah's site and update her site with a page that says the name is changing.....eventually you won't need this site anymore.

unfortuantely i dont have any financial backing, i do have an invoice of how much website has costs, and materials such as photographs, portfolio, 150 business cards will be in hand. how much business do i do?
mmm...good question, well honest truth since last september i have been saying 'im unavailable' as i thought i was going abroad earlier, and you cant book someone and then say sorry last minute. so since last year i have an advert up, which brings in enough clients for me, as i work full time, this business has been a professional hobby for me.
the price i will give away, and have started to quote is the price of the webiste and th price of portfolio and designs...
as you can see from the website, its not just gimmick set up, its been professionally done, and maintained.

when I or anyone else asks about the financial information, they will want your income statement. Basically this means how much money you end up with in your hands after you have paid all the bills related to the business.
Afterall, if you are going to ask me to pay $100 for a business but you cannot tell me how much you make then how will I decide if this is a reasonable price or not?
How can you charge for designs? I have to tell you that the last thing that I would ever pay anyone for is for designs. There is no way you would be able to police someone that might use your designs and I doubt that you are making enough money to be able to police something like this through the proper channels. (No offense meant.)
I haven't seen the site....what's the link? Did I miss it somewhere?

well this isnt aregistered business and is for someone who wants to make it “more”, with regards to income statements, well when i started up 3 years ago, i had no intention of giving it away, and as my circumstances are that im moving countries the need has arisen for me to give theopportunity for someone to kick start their business. like ive said, this is for someone who wants to start of thier own small business.
and yesi have no income statments to proove, it will be done by what i have in hand to give, which is the website, and portfolio.
I think without looking at the website and saying designs can be copied is abit harsh, as the complete deisgn portfolio i have is NOT online, and yes you can never police designs, but here i am giving my portfolio which is more than 3 yrs old.
i think only someone who wants to or has tried to start of a small sideline business can appreciate who much time effort goes into starting up a business. to get awebsite alone is not easy. to get business cards designed professionally is not easy. to go and take pictures of brides, is not easy. to go and get photoshoots done professionally is not easy. to go to exhibitions targetting people in all areas is not easy. and i have done this in my spare time as i do have a professional full time job.
with paying any amount of money you have to see what is being given and what you want. if you want soemthing that has been started in free then i think the buyer should look elsewhere, as iam looking for someone who is hardworking and motivated. not someone who wants everythign on a plate. i already have someone who wants it on a plate!

and regards to how much i make, well estimated i made a grand last summer , alone in a few months, and the summer before last it was a grand, and this is with minimal advertising, i.e. not advertising in asiana, asian woman magazine. like i said it is a business that has been set up with some advertsing done, which i can handle.it needs to grow, and hasnt reached its potential, if you have someone in mind who wants to take over a big business etc this is not for them, this is for someone who likes a challenge wants to try maximise something and achive something too.
