I’ve noticed that when male celebs lose a substantial amount of weight their entire appearance changes so that they become pretty much unrecognizeable.
Whereas when female celebs lose weight, they look the same, just thinner…

except the double chin no big difference in women but the men look well messed up before losing weight.

For both men and women you can tell that they are the same person.

I think it's the clothes. The men looked really casual and like slobs before the weight loss. After they lost weight, they changed their hairstyle and fashion sense - so it was a total makeover.
The women (being women) used to dress well even before and had the styled hair and professional makeup - that's why they look like themselves - just slimmer.
