In reality, men average life span is only few years shorter (3-4 years) compared to women in 'developed' countries.
However,
Men in general have earlier development of heart disease, stroke and high blood pressure.
Women who live longer catch up with these diseases but the complications also take longer to have effects.
Hormones is a good answer. Women hormones protect from heart diseases.
Men are more risk takers. Women in general are more cautious or as men call them 'scared'.
Men deal with more outside problems, stress and driving in rush hour etc.
Men don't let women do risky and too much stressful work as good gesture.
Men eat more unhealthy diet outside home. They love red meat more than women. They usually do not eat Daal/Chawal/veggies as much as women do.
Men smoke more. Drink more and use drugs more.
Men like to go against daily routine more than women.
They love sports and recreational activities more, get injured or fall off the bikes/horse etc.
Men usually make bigger stressful decisions for family.
In general, men have shorter but more 'useful' and 'full of life'..... ;-)

seriously though, my theory is k strong front show karne k chakkaron mein men not only deal with the stresses of providing for their family but also juggling their wife and mommy ....bandon k dimaagh pe harr koi hota hai he has to provide for his wife and kids he also must take care of his parents ....he has more going on in his life that he needs to take care of....more worries more stuff to do more people that count/depend on him...itna sab kuch hai men ki life mein but they lack the strength to share their burdens and worries...strong front show karne k chakkaron mein whatever they face and whatever they deal with they face and deal with alone....
whereas women have the tendency to let everything out we share everything.... with our spouse
if only men did that more instead of keeping everything to themselves and dealing with everything alone i think they could increase their lifespans a lot more

otherwise i thought girls average marriage age is 18-25, whereas guys average marriage age is 25-30. and it is cuz girls die quickly, no?
