Personally, I would distance myself from him. A woman’s heart gets too involved but a man can just have fun. I wouldn’t let myself get involved if he doesn’t give any concrete evidence that he wants to make a commitment.

Saima...you're right... and I'm not going to fall for it...he has been playing the friendship game...but all it has been is an ego boost for him...I wont be giving him that satisfaction no more.

I was confused about his behaviour...thought maybe he did value my friendship or something ...but I guess not...it's all about ego.

Ignore his ass. He is looking for attention and a thing on side. Block his number and never see him again. He is not worth it. Oh yeah men are rarely confused in such matters.
If you all see any guy acting like this, he has clearly made a decision to undertake such activities. Its not because he cares. It because he wants something which can range from emotional support and ego boosting to sex.

Maybe he feels bad because he couldn't reciprocate your feelings for him and so is trying to make up for it by asking you to hang out a lot.

Totally agree. Same thing happened to my friend - he was pestering her for ages, following her like a lost puppy, even ringing me in the middle of the nite - then wen she started seein him, he backed off!

This is a common tactic used by guys to make u think that he see's u as better person than her and perhaps fancies u more than he likes her. When in actual fact, he's just feeding his ego. If he had been so interested and thought u were better than her, then why did he not say that when u told him about ur feelings? The answer is because then he would have had to get involved with u but he didn't want to so he used the excuse of her as his diversion device. And, perhaps he does want u as the other woman in the relationship - but it would only be too feed his ego! SO DON'T DO IT!
