Hmmm…just thinking. Guys in general would be more likely to notice catty remarks made by their wives toward members of their own immediate family (his parents/siblings). They may be more inclined to do something about it. They may or may not take action if the table are turned and somebody from their family is making the snide remarks to the wife.
But then again…both genders are more aware/defensive of rude behaviors when it involves their loved ones as opposed to unrelated people at a gathering.
