Men and their mums cooking

I’ve noticed that guys can be fed absolutely any sort of badly prepped food from their mothers and they’ll keep it as ‘standard’ that they want everyone else to acquire be it sisters, biwi, friends and whoevers. And whoever isn’t able to churn out the same stuff falls short and isn’t quite up to scratch. Are they just so used to eating bad food they can’t taste the good in the real thing?

Re: Men and their mums cooking

^ learn how to cook like his mother.

Re: Men and their mums cooking

Eh you…as if i haven’t got enough of it already :mad3:

Re: Men and their mums cooking

It applies to everyone, not just to men. I was so used to my mom's cooking that everyone else's fell short, even if everyone else said it was amazing.

Re: Men and their mums cooking

Really? hmmm...i can always appreciate good food coming from whoever and can see when mums done it better or worse.

I think men do it more though.

Re: Men and their mums cooking

I used to love my mom's cooking too until I started cooking myself. I think no woman can come close to how delicious dishes I dole out. So, DD if you ever wanna marry me, you have to cook better than me or get ready for an earful.

Re: Men and their mums cooking

Not that it's gonna make a difference to your wide brushstroke, but all the men I have known have appreciated cooking other than their mom's.

Re: Men and their mums cooking

funguy's post "copy and pasting" for the record"

Re: Men and their mums cooking

DD, if he says his mum cooks the best in front of her only than that doesn't count.

Re: Men and their mums cooking

I dont like anyone else’s cooking either, my moms is the best. I can and will eat otherppls foods and i do admit that its’ good but nothing compares to ammi’s

Re: Men and their mums cooking

fungus, nice to know a good male cook. Us ladies should be able to rest safe in the knowledge all is well in the køkken. She's a lucky lady.

Sarah, i am yet to meet a single person who said you cook as well as my mum, or you do that better. It's always...that was 'nearly' like my mums.

Re: Men and their mums cooking

ahhh my dad does that! Compares everything I cook to my moms, n its just never good enough :bummer:

Re: Men and their mums cooking

its an unfair world isnt it!

Re: Men and their mums cooking

I made a roti for my dad once.. it was tiny and thick in the middle and just not big and flat and fluffy like my ammis, but he ate it with pleasure as if it were one of hers

Re: Men and their mums cooking

my dads a bit too honest :bummer:

And with my fiance, he doesnt even have to say anything! I can see it on his face!

Re: Men and their mums cooking

ure sayin my dad was just being nice??? :hoonh: :grumpy:

Re: Men and their mums cooking

Everyone has their own style, i know many men (including my aba and bhai) don't like the change.. i guess its just human nature, i don't have sister so i can't say if girls have the same reaction.. but i am open to try different cookings.. if i don't like something i would just eat it and tell the person who made it that don't ever do that to me again hehe politely ofcourse!

I think everyone has a particular style of cooking so depends.. i knw my ma makes great desi khana but she isn't that good with western dishes.. so yeah bhookay ko jo mila woh kha laye ga.. kuch kahey baghair.. :)

Re: Men and their mums cooking

:hehe: i just find it funny when guyz who can cook, including my husband, think they are the best chefs around. n no one can ever come close to their cooking.

Re: Men and their mums cooking

A bit offtopic but ive heard its alright to taste food while fasting, if ur preparing food an cooking for a lotta people as long as it doesnt’ go in. Wel I told my mom this and she said that that’s for women whose husbands/inlaws are so zaalim that the food has to be absolutely perfect even while fasting..
