Men and sammiches

What gives?

Before posting on GS, I had never heard of guys’ fixation with their “woman” preparing/being able to prepare/be willing to prepare/preparing on command a great sammich. Yet, since joining GS, I have noticed that guy posters from all over the world (UK, US, Canada, ME, Pakistan, other European countries) talk about women who make sammiches and how important sammich making is.

Please explain to me why sammich making represents the gold standard for a good or great woman?

Re: Men and sammiches

what’s a sammich?

Re: Men and sammiches

LOL, Hareem!

sammich = sandwich

But if you notice guys don't call it a sandwich, they specifically write "sammich".

Re: Men and sammiches

urgh...they probably suffer from mama's boy syndrome.

Re: Men and sammiches

A sammich is the ultimate expression of love. One also knows, the ability to make a sammich is very very rare. Nobody can make the perfect sammich. Hell there is only one place in this entire world that makes a decent shawarma. That is in Geneva on rue de berne. The only place i eat and i wolf down 1 or 2 at a go.

Sammich making is an art and truly shows how much a woman loves her man.

If you can't make a sammich. You don't love your husband. True fact.

Re: Men and sammiches

CM nailed it. Sandwiches are ishq ki inteha. Nothing surpasses the beauty of it. Man does not need foreplay, cuddling, cutesy talking, or talking about their days. Every man needs two simple things,

  1. A sandwich maker
  2. Somebody to iron his clothes

Re: Men and sammiches

women can't make sammys
its a guy thing

Re: Men and sammiches

A sammich is not your ordinary run of the mill sandwich. It is pure delight between two slices of bread. The stairway to heaven of sandwiches. Also the phrase "woman, go make me a sammich" first seen in the works of Arthur Schopenhauer, represents total control and dominance on the womankind, however it is widely believed that the origin of the phrase can be traced back to Cro magnons and Neanderthals, who after coming home from a long tiring day of work to their whining wives used the words "***** stop whining and go make me a sammich".

Re: Men and sammiches

Stop making men look bad.

Men need sammiches and a short nap before another round of you know what.

(Massage is optional)

There! I reveal the secret! :hat:

Re: Men and sammiches

do you make good ones?

Re: Men and sammiches

It's considered a huge accomplishment if she's able to craft a meal for him that can be conveniently eaten with one hand... thus allowing the other hand to use the remote control or pick out belly button lint.

Re: Men and sammiches

okay here is a little trick for you womenfolk.
when making a sammich toast the inside of the bread, whether it is french bread or slices
gives a little texture but is not crispy outside. much better eating experience

try it..

Re: Men and sammiches

Yeah, it's called a panini X2.
How I wish I could post a somewhat graphic response here.

Re: Men and sammiches

Do it Blueballs!!!....I mean bells. :p

Re: Men and sammiches

I've read some pretty scary things about the moderators on this forum. Don't want to take my chances :P

Re: Men and sammiches

chanda...panini is warmed on the outside.
a pane in cassetta is toasted..on the outside
and before you cry technicality

what i posted is neither of the above
i said toasted on the inside only

aren't you glad you did not post a graphic response :)

jao shabash khelo koodo

Re: Men and sammiches

Actually a panini is toasted on the OUTside not the INside as X2 is suggesting. :hmmm: X2, that’s quite a trick - I don’t like my bread too crunchy/crispy on the outside, it abrades my mouth, this toasting it inside may prevent such an sammich eating injury

So true

Re: Men and sammiches

CM, TheNoodle and Diwana pretty much nailed it for you OP. But you need to know, desi men do not ever tell their woman to go make them Sammiches. Its more a west thing than a desi.

We respect our woman. :D

Re: Men and sammiches

since you are so nice to me, here is one of my fav simple sammy that ladies usually dig.
french bread, olive oil, feta, green olives halved, sun dried tomatoes

cut open roll, but make sure the halves don’t separate, drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle feta..put olives and sun dried tomatoes on sprinkle a thin layer of feta again.. put in oven with top broiler on, a few minutes..take out and enjoy.

for some variations to it you can try other alternative ingredients crushed garlic, fire roasted peppers, portobello mushrooms, grilled eggplant. keep the fillings no more than 4 and no less than 3.

for meat eaters pulled beef or chicken is great as well. i personally prefer beef.
and if u have pot roast, and you put that on it…mmm mmm mmm mm mm.
