Re: Men and jealousy
There is a difference between jealousy and possessiveness. In men's case it is possessiveness only. Jealousy is a women thing.
Re: Men and jealousy
lol theres seems to be a lot of male bashing going on in GS these days

I remember one time my cousin had mentioned how she was praising some actor's looks and her husband got annoyed. Now she's not gonna run off with the actor.......if that were the case....then I would see his reaction as having a bit of posessiveness to it (which takes place when you fear that someone is pulling away from you or will leave you). I think that reaction was more jealous than posessive. Just an example that came to mind. I think it's a generalization to say that men ONLY feel posessive and that jealousy is just a woman thing. Two very natural emotions that are present in both genders.

Finally someone is talking like a man. Women can learn from you.
Re: Men and jealousy
Men are super possessive about their wives because they are by nature caring towards other males. They dont want their woman to mess another man's life after their's

Re: Men and jealousy
WELL, a lot of women are insecure and like the jealousy and possessiveness or they start thinking something is wrong.
Re: Men and jealousy
Agreed. My husband is super possessive but he is not jealous at all. He would hold my hand anywhere we go specially if i am dressed up. He wouldn’t let me wear certain types of outfits to work because apparently, they are too sexy..
However he would never question me about anyone at work or anything I do and I work with men, i am the only girl in our department. I love it when he displays signs of jealousy though..heh.
Re: Men and jealousy
A quote from one of my favorite movies:
Maurice Bendrix: I’m jealous of this stocking.
Sarah Miles: Why?
Maurice Bendrix: Because it does what I can’t. Kisses your whole leg. And I’m jealous of this button.
Sarah Miles: Poor, innocent button.
Maurice Bendrix: It’s not innocent at all. It’s with you all day. I’m not.
Sarah Miles: I suppose you’re jealous of my shoes?
Maurice Bendrix: Yes.
Sarah Miles: Why?
Maurice Bendrix: Because they’ll take you away from me.
Re: Men and jealousy
i don't think it's gender based at all. women can get insanely jealous and possessive when the man they love lusts over another woman.
and i've experienced it when a man has gotten angry jealous when another man looks lustfully at the woman he loves. it depends on the person's personality, can they handle it or not
being possessive to the point of being violent is scary and it's something that needs psychiatric attention. do you own the person you love?....no
Re: Men and jealousy
Men are super possessive about their wives
also, we love our wives equally
Re: Men and jealousy
TLK, you and your imagination. Is she pretty?
:ASA:]
Re: Men and jealousy
Agreed 100 percent
Re: Men and jealousy
what does it mean when a guy friend gets angry jealous when another man stares at you? i mean the pervy stare. i guess he's looking out for the gal right?
why would a friend need to get jealous like that? men are the eternal mystery, assuming anything is dangerous with men. can a man answer please
Re: Men and jealousy
men are generally more jealous; more commonly and to a greater degree. it is a seldom acknowledged fact. jealousy is more commonly associated with with women because traditionally they have been the houswives and had the onus to keep their men from straying.
modern day dynamics are hugely in womens favor. but lets not go into that detail. let me give you a simple example to demonstrate why men are inherently more jealous. there is a good reason why their jealousy is called for. when a man acknowledges another woman attractiveness in his gf/wives presence, looks at her or tries to flirt with her, the woman knows that even though he is attracted to / interested in her it will not lead to anything because a mans intentions are usually meaningless "aadmi kay chahnay ya na chahnay say kya hota hai...hoga tau tabhi kuch na, jab aurat chahay gi". but in most cases, when a woman acknowledges a mans attractiveness, its always on the cards that it might lead to something. women can have sex with other men very easily if **THEY **want to. most men know subconsciously but will not like to admit that their gf's/wives can easily, effortlessly have sex with men who are much better looking than themselves. most mens egos will prevent them from admitting this though.
