Re: Memory Lane ( Controversies in Pakistan Show-Biz)
That's okay. Your description is good.
How did she explain it and where ?
What about the producer, director, editor, co-actors, channel management.
Were they all sleeping or didn't care ?
Re: Memory Lane ( Controversies in Pakistan Show-Biz)
Sultana Siddiqui’s name was linked with Halala controversy in her first Private production drama ‘Ye Zindagi’. Though, the message got cleared by the end of drama, but be-sabri Pakistani awaam started issuing fatwas for the drama team in between.
Re: Memory Lane ( Controversies in Pakistan Show-Biz)
at he picture.
Apnay aap to khud hi embarrass karnay waali qaum.
What was the Halala controversy ?
Re: Memory Lane ( Controversies in Pakistan Show-Biz)
They were showing Halala first time and the characters were shown doing planing for Halala, after the husband played by Noman Ejaz divorces wife (Mahnoor Baloch) in anger. That lead to raising of voice, its not halal to do planned halala.
How did she explain it and where ?
On her facebook page and said it wasn’t her fault as she asked the director (Sultana siddiqui) before starting if it is required to change the clothes but the director replied it’s ok there is no need to change and we can start.

Re: Memory Lane ( Controversies in Pakistan Show-Biz)
Sure just like the Mohammad (s.a.w.) defamatory cartoons were cartoons too, right ?
So in her personal life she didn’t give a damn about wearing such demeaning cartoons. Again. ![]()
Re: Memory Lane ( Controversies in Pakistan Show-Biz)
TS, did you get offended when you watched Karb in 90s? It was quite bold subject for its time with some bold scenes as well to the standard of PTV?
Re: Memory Lane ( Controversies in Pakistan Show-Biz)
I have watched it but don't remember it.
Re: Memory Lane ( Controversies in Pakistan Show-Biz)
She is claiming dumbness. ![]()
She is so chunni kaaki to understand the meaning and consequences of the message.
Saara malba director par gira diya.
But it is good that she at least bothered to explain.
Re: Memory Lane ( Controversies in Pakistan Show-Biz)
Drama serial 'Aik thee guria' was stopped in the middle after 6-7 episodes.
Re: Memory Lane ( Controversies in Pakistan Show-Biz)
that was probably during Nawaz Sharif’s period, when they couldn’t afford to show university girls in jeans and smoking ![]()
Afterwards, in Musharaf’s period PTV came up with Amjad Islam Amjad’s ‘Inkar’ which was also about narcotics and contained many such scenes, for which they banned ‘ek thi guRiya’.
PS: Syed Shakir Uzair was a brilliant directors who had serials like ‘Guest House’, ‘Aagosh’, ‘Mujhe Saans Lene do’ and this half completed ‘Ik thi GuRiya’. Don’t remember watching his work after ban of ‘Ik thi GuRiya’.
Re: Memory Lane ( Controversies in Pakistan Show-Biz)
it was benazir’s period, though inkaar was a brilliant drama…
Re: Memory Lane ( Controversies in Pakistan Show-Biz)
it was benazir's period, though inkaar was a brilliant drama.....
There was nothing wrong with the 'Ek thi guRiya' as well. all scenes were according to the topic / issue that was being addressed in the drama. We just stopped /banned people portraying realities of society and end result is police find drugs in almost all universities when raids are made. On other hand, we promoted a culture , where only few topics are covered in formula based dramas.
