Memorial day Long weekend - what are you doing?

People in Canada enjoyed their long weekend last week while in USA they will be celebrating longweekend starting today. Its memorial day on Monday.

Its also special cuz its the first long weekend of summer. Most people head out and travel either by road or by air.

So what are you doing? Feel free to share your plans.

Well, we in France also have a long weekend coming up. It's holiday on Monday.

I already have plans to visit Budapest and Vienna early June so will stay inside quietly and plan my trips!

Well, Memorial Day Monday just so happens to be Thing 1 & Thing 2’s bday :blush: We’re having a family bbq to celebrate my cousins grad school graduation that day as well, so I’ll take a cake over for them to cut with their cousins…other then that nothing special..trying to catch up on sleep and cleaning

Yea how about some grad partiesx for new grads?? I'm sure there'll be some.

I'll be attending a wedding in NJ other than that all relaxation and playing cricket :)

Learning more Linux. Took over for a guy who left work which is to customize the kernel and user space on linux. Got a book at home and will be reading that this weekend.

I have booked hotels in Palm Spring and San Francisco but begum has other ideas. She want to start the summer with "big cleaning". Its kinda festival to her (yeah because i and kids gotta do most of the work)

I gave her this list

  • Palm Spring trolley ride
  • Desert jeep tour
  • Full day off road rental OR
  • Alcatraz tour
  • Golden gate bridge tour
  • day tour of yosemite park
  • dinner at PakwanChee

She gave me this list

  • Carpet steam cleaning
  • Closet cleanup and donation of cloths etc.
  • Kitchen cabinets cleanup
  • Garage cleanup
  • laundry of all comforters etc
  • dry cleaning of all window coverings etc
  • dawat of one "aunty" visiting from Pakistan (mom of our family friends here)
  • dinning out all 3 days

today is THE day to decide which list prevails. May be forces be with me and kids :(

In-laws are visiting. We'll be taking them to Seattle to go around the city. Spending the night there, and then for more sightseeing on Sunday, then back to our city for a dinner at friends home.

Wife has reserved Monday for shopping. That is not a good news. :(

You should do what I did. Make your kids think shopping is not a good idea. Now its not just me opposing shopping its the kids. lol
