My ex-boss gave me that book to read a few years ago.
Brilliant writing. Transports your imagination to the moment.
However, just sad and horrible in terms of what happens with young girls and how they become geishas. I haven’t seen the movie.

excellent book, excellent movie
There is scene they shot at Hakone Gardens located in Saratoga, CA. I had a chance to visit there, was really nice.

I agree with the above, it really is a great book. The film is shot beautifully, u should watch it.
All the time i was reading the book i really thought it was based on someone's true story, but apparently its all made up!

Lovely book and cute movie, although you wouldnt understand the movie if you havent read the book.
some of the terms used in the movie come straight from the book.
I liked the cute little girl who played the part with her deep blue eyes.
The lady who plays the character of Mameha is also in The Mummy 3 kicking ass

LOVED this book. I completely fell in love with the Chairman, like really really loved him!
The movie is nice, but the book is sooooooooooo much better.
