Fraudia jee, bilkul sahi fermaya aap nay, nobody should edit pictures, this is not fair.
aik baat poochoon? it is possible to merge a similar forum on Gupshup, so that everybody can enjoy without going anywhere else. Though there should be a delay in posting the pics, so that the unpleasant ones can sort out offhand by the moderators.
lets start a voting for a seperate pic form.

its a definite possibility. Lets see what the top guys say. I dunno how much load it would be on the system or how intensive would this pictures thingy would be since I saw myself someone kept posting rather lewd pics on the community page.
One possibility would be to only allow a person’s pic after they have posted a certain numbers of posts, which would mean that someone cant just log in and post crappy pics.
Why dont you start another thread and we can get some input on this from everyne else.

some questions we should address are
should the pic be in a separate community album/with user profile/an icon on each post?
should the album be moderated or self moderated. How do we prevent people from posting any lewd stuff. Do we moderate it, where do we draw the line.
My views are following
we should have it in a separate community album section. people can only add, update and delete their own pics.
The line is drawn at pornography in my view. Maybe we only allow senior members to post the pic because that would decrease the possibility of someone just joining PAK.ORG to mess around with the album.
We can possibly also assign the responsibility to someone/someones to review pics before they get posted. We could have a separate new mod for album. This person/persons can also make an album of Pakistan with pics of monuments, leaders etc etc which would run in tandem with the community album.
What do you guys think?

but would it be possible to have a central photo album. you can see a persons pic through the profile but there should also be like an alphabetical listing separately where one can go and click to se any pics.
We should prolly also think about a place where we can post our pics of pakistan or pakistani events which could be a part of our picture archives. So for anyone who wants to see places in Pakistan and the people and events..we can have pics. People can post them and the group can vote to add it or not.

I did, someone deleted it. I am with Boss and Xfactor etc on that one. Until we have accountability, desis will always muck about.
somehow I dont think NYahmedi's pic is real.
I suggested it before :
isn't it possible to have a place for a pic in some1's profile.
It's up to this person what he/she wants to have as his/her picture.
i agree with you that there should be accountability and checks to make sure peoples pics can't be deleted except the person who put it up...
also if you guys like that file cabinet concept..then maybe that could be an option as well, with the same modification options available to the person who uploaded it in the first place unless ofcourse if its objectionable or pornographic in nature,
Is that something that would be appealing to you guys as well? I've got so many funny files, more that i can't put up...but for some reason they were deleted. oh well.
I guess the only issues is going to be with system resources on files. If everyone started loading huge files it may be a problem.
Unless, we allow each user a limited amount of space and any file not viewed for 30 days gets deleted, or ummmm inactive members files get deleted too.
I am just looking at it from a systems resources perspective and the load that it may have.
It looks like we are almost headed towards a community board plus a "My Pak" kinda like "My Yahoo" concept where people can have their personal pages and allow others righst to view certain parts of it etc. That may be a bit difficult but Azkar would know more.
Azkar, we already offer email accounts, would a "My Pak" concept be really tough to do, if not now. maybe in future?
Fraud man ... mypak concept is already bulit into the upcoming release .. sigh .. yeah .. poor ol me and ma schedules ... soon .. i promise ..
limiting the file sizes is not a problem.. for that we have almost unlimited resources.. the new databank at internalnd has over 180 Gigabytes of capacity .. i call that huge for our needs ... PAk.org doesnt use much .. its PakistanMail .. as of now its using almost 78 Giga bytes .. but we are adding another 300 Gigs to that data center in October.. should be good enough to serve 1 Million Pakistani users (as of now we have +126,000 active users)
I am working very hard to come up with an elegant system for chat/gupship/profiles together. expect some ripples here next week. I will beta release the new gupshup version here.. the new version has many improvements and require extensive testing .. maybe yo'all can help ... some of the features ...
- integrated chat
- member profiles (browse, search, list, etc)
- able to show a small 25x25 image of the Guppie right under their name in each message
- better managemnt tools for mods/admins
- streamlined code for fatster access
Fraud Yar, I tried going into that site some time ago, I couldn’t. So, I couldn't see if my pic is there. (I ahve been reading about it here that my pic is there). The only people who know me are you and Mr. Xtreme. I hope you didn’t betray my trust by posting my pic on the net. I know Xtreme will never do anything like that.
By the way, I will suggest that we put our “childhood” pics on such a place. I would like to see what some people looked like as kids, and what happened now.
