Everyday , I see rants from members in some threads about thread being offensive and should be closed.
My rant is if you are not matured enough and cannot stand the intensity of the words why do you go to those thread , then read them and then cry for closing them.
This behavior is like behavior of members of Pakistani censor board who will watch all the good stuff and then do not want the public to see it. Like they are the only matured and wise ones and everybody else is stupid.
On GS there is an automatic censor which is imposed by a software program. There there are mods , then admin , directors the whole chain of danday bardar uncles who can take care of the inappropriateness of a thread . You keep your nose out of implementing censorship. AV is unplugged you know it then why you visit it if you cannot stand it ?

What majority of public thinks and want always determines the rules and conducts that Admin teams want to adopt. A recent example is of Azkar taking off those contextual ads because members did not like them.
So to say that members should not decide if a thread or topic is appropriate or not, contradicts the way GS likes to operate.
And it does not matter if the thread is in all views or not. It’s still GS.

Then they should open a thread in the feedback forum or send PM to mods about those threads , why they have to visit the thread read all of the posts and then rant that this thread should be closed since it is offensive in the same thread. I feel it is insult to the intellect of those who participated in those threads.
i think mirch is right. av i s unplugged..so when one knows that hten y do they come and read and then complain? neh acha lagta to na paro.i know i see some thread naems nd i know that i dont want 2 b part of the discussion so then i just dondt entr the thread or if i do i dont comment.

We have 'report post' iconed link at every post so member does not even have to go to feedback. He/she can just click that button.
But when someone starts a topic, that person should be ready for people to oppose not just his POV but even the choice of topic.
Let me ask you this, you started that VS thread in AV. Why you did not go to Life or Religion that might be more appropriate forums for that topic? Did you want to take advantage of 'lower censor policies' of AV or you really though that topic is more aligned with AV kind of topic?

Yes off course lower censor policies. I hope there is nothing wrong with that thinking of mine or it turns me into a pervert ? L&R will close the thread or move it to AV anyway. I have got enough experience and enlightenment to decide where I should open a thread.
I have no problem with people opposing my POV , I will either defend or accept their argument.

NO there was nothing wrong with your choice of forum. I was just asking to know if you saw that the topic was controversial to begin with, that is why came to AV, or for some other reason.
SO mirch bhai, having said that, TLK will remain TLK whether posting in Cafe or Religion or AV. Same with all other guppies. Guppies are not going from Forum to forum and changing their conservatism or open mindedness.
AV policies are for Mods to follow, when they decide to Edit/delete a thread or post, not for guppies to follow when they speak their mind. They are encouraged to speak their mind in similar fashion in every forum. They should be themselves, all over GS, otherwise GS would be a stage drama, where every guppy is acting differently in every forum.
We should keep GS real.

i agree with u , and also with the fact that we r humans and hence possess all kindaa qualities ( good , bad , acceptable , unacceptable) like rest of humans in this world have , which becomes the basis of a discussion not just here @ GS but also everywhere else..... it's just that there r certain things which we dislike personally , and things that r taboo in our culture / society , so we don't comment on it openly , but turning a blind eye towards a matter doesn't mean that that particular problem/ issue doesn't exist at all.

There are more than enough controversial topics in all over GUPSHUP so the reasoning that AV alone caters controversial topics is ridiculous and faulty.
As long as controversial topics are discussed in a mature manner and without the use of obscenity or reference to vulgarity, or attacking any fellow-member, there is no restriction in AV.

SEE MIRCH thats the point!! n at the thread where u just posted the link of this topic all of the above were present that is why we were criticizing it cuz tht lady is posting kinda wierd threads and its not just me but other senior members except the MODS have also felt it !
Jus to remind u it is a Pakistani forum isnt it??shouldnt it atleast be representing our culture..relegion???if not then it shouldnt be focusing on Pakistan i guess!!

I agree to Mirch.
If someone do not like the thread they can report it via the button or feedback. People should not start a riot inside the thread itself to lock it down.
The only other way I see is a seperate area where only mature guppies are allowed (probably with age consent) at their own risk.
