Braveheart star Mel Gibson officially apologized for his behavior during his arrest on Friday.
The actor completely lost his temper when police stopped him for allegedly driving his 2006 Lexus at 87 mph along the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu.
Things got worse when after Gibson failed both breath and field sobriety tests and was arrested for drunk driving. He later got out on $5,000 bail.
**The arresting officer was allegedly instructed by superiors to redact a barrage of Gibson’s threats and anti-Semitic comments from his report. In it, Gibson is described as repeatedly saying “My life is ****ed” and, by virtue of his position, threatening to end the officer’s career. Gibson also allegedly asked the officer if he was Jewish and stated that “****ing Jews… The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world.” **
**Regarding his behavior Gibson said in a statement: “I acted like a person completely out of control when I was arrested and said things that I do not believe to be true and which are despicable.” **
“The arresting officer was just doing his job and I feel fortunate that I was apprehended before I caused injury to any other person. I disgraced myself and my family with my behavior and for that I am truly sorry. I have battled with the disease of alcoholism for all of my adult life and profoundly regret my horrific relapse,” he added.
However Mel Gibson did not directly address his anti-semetic remarks in his apology and made no statement regarding his words.
Mel Gibson claims to be a traditionalist catholic. The views of this group vary significantly from mainstream christians (catholics) especially on the role of jews in the crucifiction of Christ. His movie Passion of the Christ was partly controversial because Mel Gibson had propagated his views in there. Even at that time, people complained that he is anti-semitic, so its really nothing new.
lol..mehnaz....i coudl sense someone's a big fan of mel...actually i never saw braveheart...come to think of it, the only movie i remember of mel gibson was that m. night shamylan movie....
Deep down all Anglo-Saxons/Christian are anti-semitic, but its a testament to the overwhellminog power and control Zionists in the West excercise that these Anglo-Saxon Christians can't do anything about it or even oppose the zionists in any way...You only need to get them drunk to let the truth out....
Who is it that has not seen Braveheart! How dare you!!!
That scene at little william wallace’s parents’ funeral where the little girl gives him that purple flower, combined with the background music, it is one of the masterpieces of cinema history, IMHO. It actually made scottish bagpipes sound good for a change.
