Looks very cheesy and pointless to be honest, not that I had any high hopes from a movie that fundamentally revolves character of Shahid Afridi.
I think Shahid Afridi is used only as a publicity stunt and has nothing to do with the movie except being shown as inspiration to upcoming cricketers and maybe a cameo in the film.
Personally, I think it is futile to show him as a role model as he is so controversial because of recent bad performance on the field and his antics off the field.
Govt., ka hi kaam hy. The concerned Ministry should look into each movie which should be played for public and whether that will be in best interest of Pakistan and Pakis.

Exactly. lol
He ain't no role model, he's just a self invented cash cow.
Lagaan was arguably the best movie made on cricket! In fact it's one of best movies from India of all times. I doubt any random thoughtless cricket movie can top that masterpiece and that includes recent cricket films from India as well, notably the cheesfest where Akshey Kumar is portrayed as a fast bowler (LOL).
Good cinema is good cinema, art is art whether its from Pakistan or India.
if we dont promote or appreciate our cinema who else will....
our industry has already suffered a huge loss and is suffering still... because of many professions not only TV or media... hence such attempts are in my opinion a really required... especially giving ppl like us to see and admire our own talent then bollywood or hollywood!!!!

Conservative criticism can only help upcoming film makers from making silly yet costly mistakes. If people don't give their true opinions, how would the films makers and producers ever get a realistic idea about people's likes and dislikes, demands and expectations?
Just because Pakistani cinemas have been dead for so long doesn't mean Pakistanis have lost their artistic sensibilities or have no sense of good quality entertainment. Sorry but sugar coating weak and superficial projects is just an act of desperation. It's hardly beneficial to the whole movement of reviving Pakistani cinema.
Like I said, people will admire talent, good scripts, quality entertainment and story lines whether it comes with a Bollywood, Hollywood or Lollywood tag.
to coop with people demands, expectations and likes or dislikes we need budget and investors/financiers which we have but are not willing to invest as they cant see any sort of production or productivity on this subject.. minor or heavy scale projects!!!!
a plane also takes time before take of so its a very good attempt regardless of anyone saying it cheap, cheesy or whatever...
people must appreciate no matter what content or material is produced as this will for sure boost our industry!!!!

The small Iranian film industry which is something that literally all media students in the West learns to appreciate and admire, is a classic example that perfectly illustrates the point that in order to make good movies you don't need larger than life special effects or huge budget, all you really need is people with good sense of art and entertainment! In other words, brilliant actors, good scripts and amazing direction.
I'm sure Pakistani film makers will attract more investors if they actually present their case with genuinely high quality scripts and storylines.
The whole jingoistic attitude of people of Pakistan must appreciate "no matter what" is just another attempt at dumbing down the nation.
I think this movie will definitely be better than a typical Javaid Sheikh and Syed Noor bogus film. And the other 3 that are releasing on Eid.
The songs of Ishq Khuda that they showed on Juggan show ages ago were so bakwaas I couldn't believe that the makers think people will still like to see the kind of songs that were being churned out in the 90s and 2000s in the hundreds.
The Shaan movie WAAR (?) has been roosting on the shelf for so long that it will look stale and out of date.
Just saw ‘The Separation’ yesterday. Normally I can’t be bothered to sit through a 2 hour movie.
I saw this one in one sitting and once again later in the day to show it to the family. Very nice, indeed. :k:
The Pakistani movie makers should take inspiration from the TV drama industry but know how to convert it into films for the big screen until they can relearn and regain the art of movie making that was present in the country in the sixties.

Pakistan, an Islamic Republic is a mixture of many individuals with different faith/believe. So film industry keep in their mind that their films, dialogue, act etc., should not become a controvert against any. Otherwise, there is nothing can stop them.
We no need example of Iranian or any other film industry.

Isn't Iran also an Islamic Republic? They unlike Pakistan just don't have a conservative culture, they actually have whole load of strict laws that impose extreme censorship yet Iranian films are routinely shortlisted for various European film awards, every now and then their films are featured on Cannes film festival and just recently an Iranian film made it in the Oscar race. Of course Pakistan need no such examples because these are examples of serious, meaningful cinema as TS above me has described.
