mahnoor is a side character and from what i've heard gets 15 minutes air time (if not less). i don't understand why everyone is so fixated on the item song and using that as a reason to not watch the movie :S
I think most people don't and won't mind the item songs, as long as they are not overly vulgar.
Pakistanis, like Indians are used to them in all South Asian movies.

Promos of the movie don't inspire me. May be it can attract other viewers, but its not my cup of tea. But I'm happy that people are calling it as a step towards revival of Pakistani cinema.

well movie is good/bad/who wants to watch or not, apart from these things, there are some other points too, like many showbiz persons don't want to take interest especially film stars because they think only we are real filmstars and film makers, geo channel completely ignored the movie because they are not media partner for this one, there are no exact figures of how much movie did in the past days, just to write status on fb or saying in news that movie is going housefull blah blah is not enough, they should provide complete information.

I do agree with this point. Our entertainment industry is full of jealous people and channels.

^ I KNOW what the hell is up with that? our ppl complain that we have no movies and when the movies come out:
1. The media doesn't promote it unless they are the distributors/producers. They even don't play the songs unless it is their movie!!!!
2. People criticize the movies without even watching them and prefer to watch chennai express instead!
what is wrong with us?!?

GEO has always had a self-serving agenda. Bar Ramchand-Pakistani and ZibahKhana there remaining movies seem to focus upon criticising Pakistan. Wasn't Geo behind the removal of Siyah from cinema houses?

What else could we call it? The centre of film making was Lahore hence Lollywood, Bollywood is named because Bombay was the centre of film making. Would you prefer it being called Pollywood like the Nigerian industry (Nollywood)?

well don't know about siyah movie and geo conflict but not only geo, other channels are also in the same boat, they can't tolerate each other.

well its possible that siyaah forced out of cinemas due to lobby but i don't think it was going housefull (how many people in pakistan know about this movie), its very easy to write a status of housefull on fb page.
For MHSA, have read this on a website;
Main Hoon Shahid Afridi, Lollywood’s biggie, attracted several eyeballs and foots when it opened last Friday and now the reports are in. Given the budget, it is too early to call the movie a hit, but looks like it is on its way to becoming one. If reports are to be believed, the movie had good occupancy throughout the week (60%), which, however, is not as good as the last hit Bol that ran at 70-800% at Atrium in the first week. The movie made 11 lacs at Capri in the first week and has been taken off from there but still has major shows in Karachi, Lahore etc.
A discussion with the producer reveals that the movie has recovered around 60% of its investment and the second week is very, very crucial for this one or it would end up being a major dent. Experts say that a lot went wrong with promotion and budget as the promotion stopped once the movie released, which is wrong. Secondly, the movie indeed went out of budget midway with delays and trouble.
Made approximately at a budget of around 7-8 crore, the movie is not in the safe zone yet. Let’s keep our fingers crossed. We’d say it is still not too late. Promote it a little more!
