Nor did she see the role she would go on to play in the revival of Pakistani Cinema and her contribution being acknowledged in this way...!
Thank you to the Government of Pakistan and the President for bestowing this honour upon me and making the dream of that little girl come true. Today, I share this with all the other girls in Pakistan who have a dream, to them I simply say, "Hope lies in dreams, in imagination, and in the courage of those who dare to make dreams turn into reality." Thank you also to all my family, friends and colleagues who have shared this wondrous journey and above all to all the fans who have supported me each step of the way and made me worthy of this award!

This is a joke, right? What award was given to Hassan Mahmood Siddiqui?

First india exported that thumka virus to all the world & being a neighbor, Pakistan got infected the most. Now the majority Pakistani public is badly infected with the disease, India threatens to attack Pakistan & even tried. Did anyone remember the PAF pilot Hassan Mahmood Siddiqui on this "Tamgha E Imtiaz" ceremony??? Or do the president, PM & the Pak army plan on fighting war with India with 'Mohtarma's thumkaas' - the infection caught from exported indian virus??? That's the only meaning I get out of the anthem being played on her thumka clips.

It is the fourth-highest decoration given to any civilian in Pakistan based on their achievements. While it is a civilian award, it can also be bestowed upon military officers of the Pakistan Armed Forces and worn on one’s uniform. The award is not limited to the citizens of Pakistan, and can be awarded to foreign citizens who have performed great service to Pakistan.
