Those of you who follow MJ on facebook might know that she’s considering making the novel “Amer Bail” by Umera Ahmed. Haven’t read the novel, but MJ and Umera is a match made in heaven and whatever they do will be nothing short of genius. So please show your support on MJ’s official page here:

I’m sure ‘Amar Bail’ had been made into a drama twice before.

One used to come on TVone or something like that - and that drama was nothing but a mess, the dialog sucked. the actors sucked and the whole thing looked nothing but a piece of trash...so i guess it'll be a treat to watch the good version of it. Even devdas was made so many times but yet people watched it...

Amar bail that came out in 2006 directed by sakina samo...starring adnan saddiqui, uzma gillani was a nice drama.
there was another amar bail starring tanveer jamal, mohsin khan, seemi zaidi (i think came in late 90s) but it wasnot written umera ahmed.
anyhow i wouldnot like to watch another amarbail since i know the story. i suggest you mehreen that you rather go for a fresh story.

Agreed. There are many other novels that can be dramatised and MJ has an ability to do the wonders with new ideas and new teams.

The one which was aired on tv one was a real mess, i have read the novel it was breathetaking, actress failed in acting she did not suited the character at all, i would love to watch this drama by mehreen jabbar.....

True the main girl in the novel was supposed to be a teenager and a pretty one but the one starring in the tvone drama looked like a maasee.

the request to re-make Amarbail has been there for a while since from what I've heard the novel is supposed to be really good but Sakina Samo unfortunately completely messed it up. I haven't read the novel or watched the SS version so I am excited about it :D

I always wondered why everyone disliked/hated that amarbail by sakina samon since i found it interesting. now i get it...its cause i am not into novels at all i always prefer dramatisation...all u have read the novel with interest and were expecting drama according to that. fair enough. :)
