ok, so this is the update and the most annoying one.. our nikkah is being done in Dubai.. now.. does the qazi in the court insist on paying part of the Mehr on the spot after nikkah? because it just seems ridiculous.. that if the bride doesn’t have an issue about getting it later why would Qazi be bothered to force it out of the groom?
I am saying this because my fiance is organizing the whole wedding on his side.. he has got no support.. and no father to help him out… his hands are pretty tight.. and he said he won’t be able to give me mehr then and there.. which I agreed upon.. not a big issue.. but my father keeps insisting that the qazi will force him to pay and to avoid embarassment from the people attending our nikkah in the court…he should bring some money at hand…
so… i ask is this what happens in Dubai courts nowadays? help please!
