Mehndi

My mum just went to collect our meat and stuff from the cash and carry and I totally forgot to tell her to get mehndi (usually we have a supply from Pak, my uncles sends us some everytime someone is coming back to the uk) but not this time :frowning: If eid is tomorrow (which everyone in my area is saying is most likely) then I shall be mehndi-less…

Here’s the pic of my one hand mehndi last eid and what I did for my cousin Sara in pak last year… I ripped off the design from a girl in the village whos mehndi we went to (except hers was much much better!)

Re: Mehndi

Ask friends/family/neighbours?

Re: Mehndi

@CEO1 My neighbours are all white. lol. My mums mate lives about 10 mins away, but her daughters don't even fast in Ramadhan, they aren't big on Islam, so they're not an option, and none of my friends live in my town (they all live in surrounding areas) nor do my relatives (They all live in Blackburn, I live in the Manchester area) I'm gonna see if any cash and carrys are open in the morning, otherwise I have those stick on mehndi things... but whenever I try to get them on, I mess it up.

Re: Mehndi

Wo0ot Wo0ot. Big up Manchester :D

Lol, white neighbours. Get them to wear mehndi too my mum always does. Lol.

Re: Mehndi

Are you from Mancs?!

Haha, your mum sounds ace. I used to fundraise by putting mehndi on the white folk (as well as asian) they love the stuff, always used to ask how long it would last etc

Re: Mehndi

Born and raised, madam.

My mum always used to invite my primary school teachers for eid too....Lol. Put Mehndi on them etc...Mummy ji is pretty kool.

Re: Mehndi

Oooh you have one up on me, I was born in Blackburn, very much raised in Manchester though since age 4 (alhamdulillah).

Aww, me and my sister have two black christian friends, who are twins, called Sam and Andrew and every eid my mum would invite them to our house and give them Eidi and they used to call our mum, mum. Alas, they've moved to Sheffield now, so no visit from them this year :(

She sounds "kool" :)

Re: Mehndi

You’re a BB girl. I have a few mates from there…At least it is better then Preston which find really dull.

Thats a shame but all my friends are moving away too many are going abroad and to London for work..:bummer:

Re: Mehndi

Got 3 cones that we got from london this year, all of them wont work, getting clogged or too runny :( so no mehndi for us either ...

Mum got some mehndi from Pak last year. They've all gone runny which is such a shame because the gave a brilliant colour!

Re: Mehndi

Hey man, london is the place to be!:snooty: (says me, at one time so desperate to go to manchester uni sigh…)

Anyways, halima that mehndi pattern is amazing! No wonder the goras at the fundraisers go mad ..

Re: Mehndi
