mehndi!

plz can anyone give me tips 2 make my mehndi function a hit :hula:

I wish I could ...

well...you can sing some nice songs...and try to do something unique...I haven't been to ne Mehendi's...so don't know wht to tell u.

A movie, food, music.

invite me :roman:

I will sing

mehndi laga ke rakhna, doli saja ke rakhna

our tumhari kisi cute si friend ke sath dance bhi kar loonga

MQ had good advice for a non-traditional mehandi. The only mehandi functions I have been to are the usual traditional ones: dholki and lots of singing, dancing, dandia by friends/cousins etc. and then the rasam. Maybe some of your cousins/friends could do a comedy skit or something??Good luck and when is the big day?

invite only people who sing and dance.. no sarials..

Have a ladies-only mehndi...trust me you'll enjoy it the most! plus if you got friends/cousins who know how to dance well then ask them to dance on old black n white songs like "chalte chalte yunhi koi mil gaya tha..." hehe...People will LOVE it! :D

Re: mehndi!

simple..have fun.
fun is what makes mehndi a hit.

Whatever you do please make sure to organise music beforehand. I hate going to mehndis and listening to the click click of the wannabe DJ finding particular dance numbers. Or listening to entirely inadequate songs to the occasion. Make sure you select the best and pop all on one CD. Music matters.

i was in charge of music for my brothers wedding, and even though we had a dj, i knew he'd be playing songs that were not for the occasion...like new songs, and remixes and songs that have nohting to do with weddings...( i hate that!)...so what i did is that i made some cds myself...a couple of cds were all mehndi songs (paki and indian)....i ddint know how to make them non-stop so instead i made a few different cds and told the dj to play one track of cd1 and blend it with one track of cd2....
for the valima (did have a rakhsati since girls side was in pak..)i did the same...before the bride came out i made some shadi cds..one cd for guys side and the other cd for girls side shadi songs...again, i told the dj to blend the songs together..and when the bride came and had her entrnace..i made some cds that had classic love songs.......
thank god i did that...even though it was a lot of work, and i personally think thaat djs are a waste of money..just try to rent a nice stereo equipment (cuz practially all the dj did was just hit play..)..but everyone though that the music was great...i was relieved!!!
if you need any song ideas (for entrance/dancing, etc) let me know....
my cousins call me the wedding music planner....lol....

People who look like they dont want to be there but are there zabardasti say. Just sit their quietly, no hullgulla, no shor machana, no fun.

half my cousins are sarials...and the aunties too! thats why i hate dancing in front of the them..they just sit on their fat asses waiting to be entertained...i should start charging them....lol..

have lots of candles but only if you have enough room..dont burn no one! we burnt a couch and our carpet n we had like these candles hanging from the ceiling which almost fell on the bride, hehe she wasnt too happy..and have yellow n red roses
