hi all!
im in the seattle, wa area, and im looking for ideas on how to get mehndi thaals made or is there a store / online which sells these thaals…im going to pakistan around feb 09 but im worried as to how bring these things back!! anyone have any experience in bringing stuff back from pakistan to the states? ( and didnt have a bad experience!! )

How much time do you have to bring these things back? A few weeks? months? If you have enough time, you could book a container on a ship. No, I'm not kidding. It takes a few months but your giant container comes right to you and it's wicked cheap. It could bring all your stuff.
Now, if you have little time, I'd suggest you pack them properly and put them in hard boxes and bring them. Of course, that clearly means paying extra $$ in luggage but that's your best bet.

Hey u know what i think u can do it at seattle just get the thaals/ base from here get boards of different shapes ....get candles and some other fancy stuff get the thaals arranged with flowers from where u live put candles among them and place a dia with mehendi in it or mehendi in the centre cover the thaals with glitter u can place pretty flowers on a mirror as well

I brought thaals from Pak to USA for my wedding and they got here no problem at all. The shopkeeper just wrapped them up pretty nice and tight.
Like stylo said you can also make your own thaals. If you have stores like Party City or Nobbies in your area you can find thaals in various colors like gold, silver etc. Buy the chamkeela kiran type stuff to hang around it if thats the look you want or arrange flowers and glitter. And then in the middle you can put tea light candles, petals etc.
There have been plenty of threads on mehendi thaals. I am sure you will get great ideas here if you want to make your own although for me, i was able to easily transport them too.
