Love his voice, singing, the tune and the music. But why on earth he decided to sing a song in hindi ??? I mean few words here and there are OK…lekin ye bahut ziyada zabardasti ki hindi daali howi hai lyrics mein…sounds a bit out of track in some places in the song. We should not promote hindi on our state run TV and singers of high caliber.

its a bit late to expect better from her as she passed away years ago.
a gr8 poet though. :~)
note : bindi, manglsuter etc are already very popular and common amongst our new generation. prolly in few years we'll see sindoor aswell. slowly but surely our ppl are moving back to hinduism. islam is in their livez only to be questioned and criticized. :-)

EP - sometimes it helps to look at things in a more optimistic way. It's so very easy to criticize others while making a big deal out of almost nothing. Bindi, i've seen commmon amongst the young people, but manglsuter, sindoor, etc.? Get real.

Well, they are not worn for a religious reason buddy... If they were, then I'd be out there supporting you. Its just a part of our culture, that has now been embedded. Hinduism is not a confined religion, it developed over the course of years and has alot of things that are associated to it, not because they have religious value. We must learn to distinguish whats right and whats wrong amongst these things.

almost nothing? well you certainly have the eyes to look at things in a VERY optimistic way, bringing it down to almost nothing. i like that. whenever you want to turn ur back over something, just equate it to almost nothing and wallah, it will become almost nothing. :~)
so you have seen bindi amongst young people so for you its common n acceptable. same way i have seen people [muslims ofcourse] wearing manglsuter, but since you have not seen any [which i find difficult to accept] so its not very real for you :~)

My family still does the practice of mangalsuttar, although they dont do it for any religious meaning...its kinda like a leftover tradition like many of our mehndi rasams.
Besides its a piece of pretty looking jewelry. The meaning it has is that which you give it.
^^ OMG i never knew dat , gosh i still think it is a hindu rasaam and one shouldn’t preform it especially if 1 is a muslim, i hope i haven’t offfened any 1 or their family rasaams.
I like the Mehndi song by Jawad and I liked it even more, as it sounds different from the usual kinds of Mehndi songs in Pakistan. I think it doesn't matter much what he is singing .. we should show some tolerance about other cultures, even if it isn't ours.. !
No doubt the song is beautiful and a change from the usual pop/bhangra tracks. But all I am saying is that it doesn't sound good that a top pakistani pop singer singing a song in hardcore hindi....which i believe not even a indian pop singer has tried yet. I mean you can find some hindi words in indian pop songs..but they are here and there....very few. But in this song....seems like whoever the lyrsist is..has tried to pour as much hindi as she knew in the song. Some verse even do not sound pleasent at times.
