Mehndi Party in backyard! Decor help!!

Hi gurls!

I need help with my mehndi party decor. I don’t know what to do… Could someone give me ideas? Pictures too, maybe? I’m having my mehndi party at my home in the backyard. it’s really big MashaAllah. the problem is that I don’t know how to set things up. We’re going to get a few tents.. but then what? Doesn’t seem enough. What else can I do?

You need to figure out:

  • the entrance
  • stage
  • seating arrangement
  • dancing area (if you are having dancing)
  • food area
  • flower decoration around the tent and hanging from the roof
  • lighting to light up the area plus fans.

Hire a decorator alongwith the tents and the whole event would be their headache. If you are a DIY person, then a simple stage and gao takkias can be done easily but not the whole event.

*****- A wooden jhoola can be hired and decorated with flowers on its top bar and along the sides if you can’t put up a whole stage. Yards of fabric artistically arranged at the back would look beautiful.

Matkas with mirrors and diyas are a wonderful DIY mehndi project and you can use them to decorate around the stage area and jhoola. These can be made in dholki parties by friends held prior to the mehndi event.

yea u could have dias and pottery of matti. Chiraghs will work fine. i am really enjoying paper flower arrangements these days. then lots of flowers. u can give different color to different seating area as for men and women. for children , there could be some toy area where they won't disturb their moms , the stage should be at left or right of audience so that bride is not facing the visitors directly but she can see all the dances been done. there should be two steps to come down of stage , one of right and one of left instead of centre one. the stage should be low. then u can have things made of cane all around especially cane k pitaray jis main jab bulb jalatay hain, they look good. green and yellow covers will be fine.

do big chinese paper lanters, or christmas lights, or paper bunting. you could make those big paper pom pom balls that are really popular too.
