the one shown in image can indeed be 100$ still i doubt it, although its nice but there is no comparison if i see it correctly it has either resham or gota and beads work on neck and on sharara it has more unfine embrodiery stitches.
and i doubt sharara fabric is pure banarsi either.
colors may be similar but finesse not.
and whats here http://www.indusmart.com/shop/customer/productwomen.php?productid=18802&cat=320&page=2 is in short pure banarsi top and sharara Embroidery done is very fine zardozi work using kora, naqshi , swarovski crystals etc with very delicate embroidery stitch.
with that i guess if you go for sharara stitching to a good darzi he would charge you between 60-100$ .

i knwo this is off topic..but hey…i think its crazy that these pple (designers, online, paki stores here) charge an arm and a leg for suits…my sister got this gorgeous sari for 1200rs (a little over 200 cdn dollars)…if she had purchased it from a designer, online or from a shop here in canada, she would have paid 2x or 3x the price!!!
(cant really see the kaam…but when she moved about, she sparkled!)

its from pindi....my sister told my MIL the kind of kaam she wanted, so my MIL went shopping iwth my mom "designed" it her self...and oops..just noticed the priced....it is 12, 000 Rs..not 1200 Rs..my bad....

its like saying u bought an estee lauder lipsticks versus a Revelon lipstick…price is always a difference…and obviously quality is a difference too…but sometimes ppl can’t really tell what lipstick ur wearing…and for some ppl the fine delicate kaam might mean something…but for others who look at the cost first…look to see the overall view and that the idea is the same.

I think sarees are best from India....if u have the chance to get them made in India that would be better....a saree for $200 in India would have been just as nice...online and indian shops in the west charge way too much....when u go back home and get it urself its not that bad.

Yup. My MIL brought lovely ones for my barri from Bombay. There’s a yellow one that is just gorgeous and falls beautifully.

it AS IT IS certainly worths more than that.
even if somebody attempt to make just similar design in cheapest work possible (just resham) even then it would cost more than what you quoted for it earlier.
