Love the event where everyone gathers at the bride’s or the groom’s house for mehndi application. A very informal thing that can also work as a dholki. I had one and have gone to loads. Believe it or not, I really like the way aunties, bhabis and newly married girls try to cosy up with the bride to offer her free advice that mostly ends up in giggling.
It is pretty easy to plan as well - no dress codes or any particular decor. Just simple decoration and food and of course, skilled mehndi walis to complete the picture.

We had one for my SIL's wedding.. It happened quite unplanned, nothing big. The family gathered for dholki almost everyday and one day we spotted an expert mehndi-wali at a stall in market and asked her to come over and do our mehndis.. So that's how it just happened, was a fun activity but I wouldn't want it to be a must or necessity from the POV of extra burden.

I think its a great idea!! I would love to have the pre-wedding mehndi application get together :) my sister had one, just an informal get together with my other sisters and cousins and friends..my sis was wearing a plain yellow suit and it was so sweet as we were eating at the same time so we all took it in turns to feed her chawal :) it so simple yet sweet..im looking forward to mine! :D

i love these too, mahi! i had one and i'm planning one for my brother this summer as well before his actual mehendi. its such a fun, relaxing event before the wedding hectic-ness starts!
