i would not take the risk, cuz some mehndi's come off really quickly. Plus you'll have to avoid washing your hands for a week--which is gross.
Maybe you can just do your feet, cuz who's really gonna see your feet and get you mehndi done 1-2 before the shaadi. Basically- now is not the time to start taking risks!! lol
^ Agree, don't take that risk, if you really want mehndi effect on your mehndi day, get those sticker thingys, it comes with glitter as well, to me it looks a bit tacky but would fill in the blanks :) if anbody suggest that you get your mehndi on your heena day, and get it redone/reapplied on what is already on your hands, please don't go for that. I know someone who did that and it looked horrible.
Actually the point of the mehndi function/rasam (it's really no different than the mayyon ceremony) is to prepare the bride for her wedding or to have an auspicious beginning to the preparation of the bride for the wedding.
In my own family (don't know about others) 7 suhagans (the most happily married women you know) apply the henna on the patta, as well as dabbing the bride to be with sundal and ubtan. After the 7 married women are done, then it's open season and everyone else can do the rasams. The point being - you want to initiate the activity (i.e the application of henna) with good wishes, i.e. the good luck and good fortune of happily married women. After you've had the auspicious beginning - then you can do the actual application. To this end, the girls in my family go without applied mehndi for the function and use a paan ka patta to prevent their hands from being stained and people will for the sake of shagun dab the mehndi on the patta. The bride to be then has the henna applied closer to the date of the wedding to avoid fading.
have glitter mendhi for your mendhi rasm, that washes off! and it'll last u the few hours ...then say about 2 days b4 ur weddin hav d brown mendhi.... with glitter u can have a few colours, a few rhinestones put in and have it matchin ur outfit and it'll look really nice!
my mehndi is the same way a week before the wedding and am not going to get it applied until the day before the actual wedding. a week is way too early to get mehndi bc it will most def. will fade or start to fade away which looks horrible
^ was thinking of doing that but dont know how it will look....would it have a fake look to it or will it peel off during the event I wanst too sure about this but did have the idea in mind yet am hesitant to use it on tht day
pls dont get the mehendi done that far in advance!!
i'm having mine done no more than 2 days before the wedding....mehendi night just fill your arms with churiah to match your suit...one hand will have that leaf thing to hold the blobs of mehendi they give you rite so you should be fine. x

The mehndi stickers are actually pretty good & adhesive, they don't peel off so simply. Some are actually like decals....where you position them to where u want them, then hold/press a wet napkin against it so u can apply to ur skin (similar to those fake tattos for kids). I had my mehndi a week and a half before wedding (was goin to paki for wedding) and used the stickers and everyone loved it. It all depends on HOW well you apply it.
