I have seriously got some major bad luck with my mehndi outfit!! I have bought TWO mehndi outfits in the space of 8 months and each one has managed to get RUINED! I am so sick of it!
Ok so basically, my first outfit was bought from Lahore in Pakistan, and the karigar fudged up my outfit completely because he ruined the sleeves and the top half of the kameez and basically could not be rectified.
My mum decided to buy me a SECOND mehndi outfit seeing how upset I was with my outfit. I decided to choose it from England. It was a boutique made outfit, a long frock, with lots of colours and pleats. Its quite funky! The only problem now is that she used the wrong colours I had asked her to tie dye the dupattta. She has used an orange and green. The green is fine and dandy but the orange looks so OUT of place because there is only the tiniest amount of orange on there! The main colours on the outfit are green, flamingo pink or burgundy.
My question is.. is there any way of dyeing over this orange? or removing the orange colour to dye an alternative colour?
the parrot green is so diffuclt to find - I have tried that already - thought it would be best to try and strip the orange somehow and tie dye in hot pink and burgundy!
I wonder what colour burnt orange would go if i tried to bleach it with a dylon dye stripper ;s
desi tailors never fail to mess up a bride's wedding somehow. :( i think you could definitely dye it to burgundy with the right combination of dyes! the outfit sounds really pretty otherwise, good luck!
