I have this idea for my mehndi dupatta and I want to figure out the best/easiest/most cost effective way to go about creating it for the mehndi dupatta I will be making my entrance under.
If any of you guys have seen the song Re Kabira (encore) video and seen the part where kalki is walking into her wedding under a red dupatta with lights in it you will know what I am talking about.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to make that dupatta and what kind of lights to use. Someone suggested sewing on fairy berries to the dupatta but that will end up costing a lot for something I won’t use again. Any ideas/suggestions please!!!
I have these battery operated light strings, got them from the hardware stores around Halloween..they are just like regular Christmas lights but smaller (quarter sized) . You can also check on etsy for battery powered strings???! They have the regular ones and also some cute flower shaped lights as well.
the flower strings are bedded on a wooden frame. That's where you clamp the battery pack. The light strings did not bring the phool chaddar down either.....they were pretty light plus the frame provided a good support...
Its up to the bride, some like doing it on the mehndi as part of the rasms, some like to wait before the wedding. I see a lot of brides now doing it two days before the wedding day itself for dark colour on their hands. Also depends how much of a gap there is between the mehndi function and wedding day
