...Mehndi Dupatta For Guys...

I am looking for some sites that sell those “dupattas” or “saafas” that guys usually wear around their shoulders on mehndi. Usually they are green and yellow. I am not being lazy and coming here as my first option, I tried to search online but couldn’t pull up some good sites, as I am not really good at searching for this stuff.

So, if you know of a website, preferably Pakistani website, that sells those dupattas for guys, please post the links here. Also, feel free to give ideas by posting pictures. Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Re: ...Mehndi Dupatta For Guys...

Do you have to buy them online? Is travelling to a store not an option?

Re: ...Mehndi Dupatta For Guys...

I personally don't have time to go to Houston. However, parents are going to houston probably next week. I was just trying to see how much they cost so I'll have an idea whether to buy them from a store or online. But yeah, I would try my best to avoid driving for 6 hours each way to go to a store.

Re: …Mehndi Dupatta For Guys…

Oh there’s no desi area in NO?
I went to florida, the closest desi store was 20 min drive away and they had crappy stuff that was overpriced..

You oughta come to NYC :biggthumb

Re: ...Mehndi Dupatta For Guys...

shikra can't you just use your mom's/khala's/phupoo's old shaddi ka jora's dupatta?
or are the ones that guys 'wear' different ...?

and that website...those dupatta's can me found anywhere! why would you wanna pay $$ for something that might be sitting at home in your sister's closet? :D

Re: ...Mehndi Dupatta For Guys...

^ ....OR you can go to any fabric store and get in yards depending on how many ppl will be wearing it

Re: ...Mehndi Dupatta For Guys...

^ just what I was gonna suggest. Get fabric. That's what we did on my mehndi for all the guys.

Re: …Mehndi Dupatta For Guys…

Hmmmm…going to a fabric store might be a good idea. I am not sure if they’ll be multicolor, but one color should do it too. Thanks ladies.

Re: …Mehndi Dupatta For Guys…

Get ready for some more maar :smilestar:

I asked ammi and she said she doesn’t have such dupattas, they are not multicolor anyway, and their material is not this kind, they are different material and guys will look girly, and we need a few of them, not just for myself. So now I need a website that sells these :smilestar:

Re: ...Mehndi Dupatta For Guys...

those are tie-dye dupattas....from the look of it, it looks like silk. if u want to go to the path of the tie an dye, i suggest chunri. you can get them/look for them with the traditional mehndi colors. and if u want them less chunri-like, just iron them.

like someone said, just look for that stuff in the fabric store...like joanns or something. cotton would go great too. starch the dupatta a bit though.

Re: …Mehndi Dupatta For Guys…

30 bucks for a freakin dupata that not you other people will be wearing for only 4 hours and then throw it out. :smack:

ask your mother to go to any desi store that sell that type of fabric. buy fabric of 20 yards. That will cost no more than 50-80 bucks and then you should be able to get atleast good 20 dupattas from it…

shikra kuch zeyada peece a gaye hain to mujhee de do

Paisay nahi hain merey paas, aatey hi kharch ho jaatey hain :bummer:

The problem is that American fabric stores don’t have such material and desi stores do not exist in New Orleans. Parents are going to Houston next week, hopefully they’ll find some there.
