yes but at the same time you dont want it looking cheap and tacky,
your trying to carry of something different and quite big and on a low budget so you should think about the end product you dont want your guest making fun of it, when you have tried to cut corners,
i dont know if you watch sweet sixteen (london) on MTV but there was girl who had a birthday bollywood theme but was more ariabian theme im sure that would help you
If u cant decorate the whole hall, make sure that u do focus on bridal seating area, like deep coloured drapes and arab tables etc. Rest of teh hall, will u b allowed to place oild burners or not bcos of health and safety? Otherwise dab laods of nice smelling attars on the drapes!
I really like the sound of rugs on the floor with cushions and low tables. Get your friends and family to lend u bedsheets and cushions!
Im having an arabian theme at my mehndi too and I'm doing it myself! My mums made me all the cushion covers I needed and we've already got cushions of diff sizes. I'm having a back drop of diff colours, namely pink, orange and purple. I'm also making my own umbrellas! The tricky bit is trying to out how to make them stand by themselves...
Hmm, i didnt account for flower power! I had images of deep reds...
me too bebe, me too. a housewares store was having a massive sale a while back and my mum bought these really large (>2"x2") cushions in dark colours (dark red, dark purple, dark green) with a sand/golden thread embroidery on them for £5 each! stuff like that would be perfect. my dad also bought these freakin` huge rugs from saudi, like 12'x8', that we bust out whenever we have a lot of people over and will be sitting on the floor. and my bro bought these patterned, woven syrian cotton throws when he was in damascus, that you can use for pretty much anything.. to cover tables, as wall hangings... yadda yadda.
my point is, i'm sure you can easily and cheaply find a lot of appropriate stuff and family and friends will be able to help you out!
