Indeed it is, especially when you are looking for what you want to see…
There are scores of documents on Mehmood's sex life with the boy. If you refer to any historical accounts, that was the accepted norm of the pashtun society (esp high society). Mehmood was not Gay, but bisexual. Infact many rulers of afghanistan and current day NWFP of pakistan were bisexual. That's the truth and its left to you to accept or reject it.
????
It aint norm of a Pashtun society and never was. Have you had a personal encouter with one? Please enlighten me on what you are basing this on, preferably with facts and not what you think.....
“In the Northwest Frontier Province (NWFP), which shares many tribal and cultural links with neighboring Afghanistan, the ethnic Pashtun men who dominate the region are renowned for taking young boys as lovers”
I never have interacted with any pashtun, but with many keralite business men who claim that they are descendants of Afghan and strongly believe that it is part of their culture to have boys dedicated to them.
Homosexuality is a part of society, just like in any western/eastern society. Inter-sex marriages are common in parts of the world.
I am a pashtoon and to deny that there ain’t homosexual pashtoons would be a lie but to say its part of the culture is absurd.
And please don’t point some individuals actions towards their culture/religion…

^More than Pakistanis...........oooooooooopps sorry ...............many Pakistanis could understand.
Arli, u r so damn predictable. As u might have noticed, i usually don't just tag a one liner in other threads except cafe, and of the all persons, I knew that YOU will be the only one getting a piss outa my post. And so, it shows.
I am not pissed off out of your statement but I said my opinion. No emotions or commotions here.

Punjabee has put a valid point here.It clearly states ythe kind of `unIslamic' relationship both had.

I agree that every society has people with homosexual tendencies, but, I learnt on this board and on net that Pushtoons in particular are more famous for these tendencies than balochis, punjabis or sindhis. That's the reason why you have so many articles written on the pushtoon men liking young boys. It does not mean anyway that it is acceptable in that society, it simply means that it is more common than rest of pakistan.
Please revert back to my original question.
Even wiki doesn’t have any such sentiments towards Ghaznavi.

What the hell is worng with you hindus?
Proofffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff, why cant you shut your trap on your own filthy idea/beleives and bring some proof to what you say. How many times does has it been asked of you?

Are you being sarcastic here? do explain what you mean please.....
Valid points. However what is appalling is that a homosexual/bi-sexual ruler is considered a hero in Pakistan ![]()

I have supplied a couple of links to substantiate my claim. Why dont you substantiate that he wasn't gay if you are so sure ?
Re: Mehmood Ghaznavi
Mahmud of Ghazni - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Even for two centuries before Sultan Ghaznavi local hindus used to rob the people who would come to visit Somnath. The place where money taken from people was hidden in the idols as gold or jewels.
There is no mention of any sexual act or love affair in this site or any other.
I dont understand how you can compare robbing people and robbing the temple (and demolishing idols) ?
Wikipedia is not the Bible - the link I have provided is from a research on “Homosexulaity in Islam”. Just because Wikipedia “does not mention” it does not mean it did not happen.
We are going round the circles.
You think what you think and we will continue praising him.

Well, if you want to idolize a gay ruler do so by all means ;)

Care to explain what 'sex' is? What was the sexual act which is even once documented?
It was an unusual relationship of master and slave with slave being very much a slave. There are no 'scores' of events documented.

I know you don't understand many things.
You got the opposite view and just accept it. There will never be an authentic proof of sexual act between these two as it was not.
Besides attacks on Somnath, Ghaznavi has many many other great qualities beneficial to hindustan and hindus, muslims alike to be considered as hero.
He freed people from being financially robbed by those Evil Somnath keepers. Taking their money anyways and hiding it in those idols.
Well, if people were careful not to hide money in those idols and bow to them...:-)
They tried to bribe Mehmood not to break the idols and he was not looking for money...but he found the money much more than he was being bribed for.
Hindus used to loot and rob hindus for centuries my dear. It was a norm there.
