HMMM. Are you gonna need to get it touched up for the Barat or Waleema?
Re: Mehindi- Getting it done
i do not think touch ups would be required as one of my cousins for hers done from the same salon and her mehndi lasted for upto 3 weeks! and the salon lady claims the same to me that the bridal mehndi she uses will last atleast 2-3 weeks.
I got mine done the day before my mehndi. My good friend did my mehndi so it was done right at my mehndi funcution after all the rasams were done and my friends and cousins were dancing.. I thought it was a great experience because everyone was just relaxing (it was only family and close friends). For my nikah I had it done the day before in private but I definately enjoyed more during my mehndi funcution. i guess it depends on how much you are getting too since I only went till near my wrist for both hands..
Re: Mehindi- Getting it done
I think the tradition is that the groom's side is bringing the mehndi for the bride to put on, so in theory you would put it on after the mehndi. Obviously that's not how it is any more. I put mine on the day before the wedding.
I also like it when brides have the dried mehndi on for the mehndi.
wud get it done before the mehndi day. Just d day before even if thats d mayu or some dholki, during function it seems impossible.
Re: Mehindi- Getting it done
Mehndi can take up to 48 hours to get to it's full dark colour, so should be applied 2 days before the wedding.
The one I use has lasted 1 - 2 weeks but the colour starts fading after 5 days so if your walima is a week later it may not be that dark.
The glitter mehndi that doesn't wash off is a medical glue that is applied first and then loose glitter over it, so you may not be able to get it done on the same day as your mehndi., you'll have to check with your artist.
Black mehndi can cause a reaction on some people, there's been a lot of bad press about it even on watch dog in the uk. I used to use it and then started coming up with an itchy rash which was quite sore, so have stopped. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
Re: Mehindi- Getting it done
