I also wore a gota work suit on my sis mehendi! It was really beautiful!!
It was a yellow kameez with gota work...light green churidaar and dupatta...

by the way is ribbon work also considered as gota ? gota is more of a metalic kind of ribbon right ?
Anyways i will post a picture of an outfit that i got made in quetta , its all hand work done by Hazara girls (ethnic tribe ) who do all kinds of handwork from their homes.
I cant remember what i paid for another ribbon complete outfit but it was reallllllllllyyyyyyyyyyy reasonable …something less 5000 Pkrs , i am sure it wasssssss wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy below 5000 pkrs…my cousin bought the dupatta’s fabric of a georgette kind that keeps slipping from my head :S its the heavy georgette see through fabric but definitly not chiffon.
The kind of ribbon i am talking about is really different and would even look cute on mehndi colors or any color and occassion
anyway its ribbon and pearls work and looks really nice …i had the work done on sleeves , daman and flowers on the dupatta 
will post pics tonight
i love gota work it has some sort of a girly feeling to it

hey…i have seen ribbon work but didnt know its also called gota work..

my wedding jora had the very fine goti work…and had kora/dabka work over it…i was afraid it would not look neat..but it came out ok..

So sweet of you Chanda to remember about my query. No I have not find anything yet. I am going to Karachi next and someone mentioned to me that in Gulf or may be in Gizri there are karigars that can do gota work. When I am there I will go and see what kind of kaam they are doing and may be get one jora done with gota/lachka work.

I wish I knew how to do gotay ka kaam.....I remember learning how to make the flowers withe the thin gota but I think I have forgotten now.
Someone please do a tutorial.
