The mehndi will add a reddish color to your hair…which may be more visible if your hair is dark brown. On black hair…that reddish color is more visible in the light. I don’t see it as a “lightening” of hair color. For that, you’d have better results using hair dye which contains a bleaching agent. You’ll get the color you desire…but it can be harsh on hair.

Thanks RV - This is the reason i am little scared to use dyes. My original hair colour is fine enough. I already have excessive hair fall and im trying not to risk any unnatural things to the hair.
