A cousin of mine is getting married soon and heR fiancé tells her that he hates the smell and look of henna during a casual conversation.
The poor girl wants a pretty henna design but now she doesn’t know what to do. She loves her fiance and would like to please him although he hasnt told her to not wear it at the wedding.
Someone suggested using a tattoo or the color stuff that washes off but she also wants to participate in the tradition of it all. What do you suggest? How would you handle this?
I've noticed many guys who (and even some women) who don't like the smell of mehendi....but they can still manage to handle being around it. Besides, you mentioned that he hasn't told her not to wear it at the wedding....so that could mean that while he hates the smell....it's not to the point that he'll stop her from applying it. Know what I mean?
***And you also mentioned that he doesn't like the look of henna during casual conversationt. But henna would be more visible when it is on the upper side of the hands...and not on the palms, right? Is it possible for her to maybe apply real mehndi on the palms....and do the tattoo version on the tops of the hands?
Very valid point. I know of at least two men who claim they can’t stand the smell of mehndi but when their wives wear it they can tolerate it because its on their hands! That’s love for ya! I bet he hates it but once he sees how beautiful she looks on her wedding day with all the glitz & sparkle, he’ll realise the fact she’s wearing mehndi won’t bother him at all - after all, its not permanent!

Oh, my bhabhi didnt apply real mehndi because my brother hates mehndi.. its smell.. color everything. engagement, nikkah aur phir shadi/rukhsati beghair mehndi k :( :(
you can discus it with you to-be hubby before hand and then act accrdingly! after all whatever you prepare on your wedding it should be for your hubby! :)
and this is too a fact that boys mostly LOVEEE things on their wives which they normally donot like/hate on their sis and cousins so just talk to him! :P
