A while ago I started a thread on Mehdi Hassan and his great performances. This is a good thread. Thanks to Azkar.

I personally do not think anyone can sing the way he did and as I said in my previous thread on him, yes, there have been great singers,…but..there will never be any other Mehdi Hassan.

The control on voice and smooth deliberation and spontaneity he showed is not easy to match.

whenever i start listing to Mehdi, I get stuck and spend almost all time on the first song in my first post .. Tere bheege badan ki khushboo se .. dont think many more songs are this romantic ..

There was only one Mehdi Hasssn and no one will ever achieve the heights of ghazal singing which he did. I grew up listening to him. Rnjish hee sahee is my favourite.
