Meeting the stars!

Re: Meeting the stars!

sorry, I think rishta karanay wali lady doesn’t quite cut it as a star! :smack:

Re: Meeting the stars!

Met Javed Sheikh and Neeli when they were together. Sheikh is a thorough gentleman and comes across as a pretty decent guy. Neeli didn't have the starry attitude at all and was pretty down to earth and easy to talk to. Met them while they were shooting, and kept bumping into them over the course of a few days. Overall, they were impressive and totally unlike the movies they star in :D

Also met Riz Khan a couple of years back and he was a little taken aback that someone recognized him :) He's very tall and rather pudgy but was frank enough when I asked him his opinion of the Pakistani leadership at that point (Mush had been in power for a while and he thought that it "seemed" like he had good intentions)

Re: Meeting the stars!

I met Shaan recently and found him to be a thorough gentleman. I know his image is that of a difficult, tantrum throwing star but knowing a few people in the industry I have heard all kinds of horror stories about the unprofessionalism of directors, producers and even big shot media channels. I have friends who have been awaiting payments from the likes of Geo for over two years and in some cases not being paid at all. Ditto for concert organizers who promise the bands hefty sums, make some advance payment and then disappear altogether. No wonder one has to be tough in their dealings to earn a living.

back to Shaan. He came across as very humble and has a lot of charm and charisma. Comments about his wife are in bad taste though. She complements her husband quite well and hats off to her for looking like a college girl even after 4 kids. She may not photograph very well but is quite pleasant to look at actually.

I would really like to meet Zeba Ali having heard praises of her beauty in real life too. I live in Isloo but every time I go to Lahore and pass by the Ali zeb mansion I have half a mind to go over and meet the woman whose grace and beauty on celluloid are unsurpassed by her contemporaries or even the current lot both in Lolly and Bollywood. Maybe one of these days I might....

Re: Meeting the stars!

**my uncle was a story and dialogue writer in bollywood. his most successful movie was india's a super hit and a legendary movie which won most Filmfare awards [india's equivalent of oscar awards] ever in the History of Bollywood from best movie to best song, best male singer, best female singar, best director etc. his children still live in Bombay and they still have contacts with some of the big stars of the 60's. They live in the same house where malika e tarannum Noor JahaN once live. that house was owned by Bombay Muslim Waqf Board and she asked my uncle to move in b4 she migrated to Pakistan.

so, i was fortunate enuf to have met [thru my cousins in Bombay] with Dilip Kumar, Saira Banu, Shashi Kapoor, Nanda, Sharmila Tagore, Amitabh Bachchan [he is from my mom's hometown of Allahabad] and Jaya Bahaduri among lead actors/actresses and Rajendra Nath, Johhny Walker, Jagdeep, Mukri and Keshto Mukherjee among comedians.

i am NOT a type of person who wud care to line up to see celebs. it just happened.**
