I moved to Georgia in 2011 and Alhumdulliah we are now settled in to our new place and I feel like I want to meet new people my age. The problem is that most people in atlanta area have divided themselves in groups. How should I try and make friends with girls that are married and preferably with kids? I am not a shy person but I don’t feel comfortable walking to a group of people and introducing myself especially because I am running behind my 4 year old baby girl most of the time

Just wait a year more and let her schooling start.. it will help you making some mothers your friend, from her school and you wouldn’t be running behind your baby for almost 4 to 5 hours

She's 4...pre-school moms? Play groups? Activities where there would be other parents with the same age kids?
You could also become more active in the Muslim community. Usually a good way of meeting new people.

Why don't you try talking to a particular person instead of a group of people? Get to know them and they can introduce you.
