People have been getting married since the dawn of time... the "natural" process of selection and hooking people up is already in place, you just have to be patient.
If you go out of your way to find a marble in pebble field (these ISNA/ICCNA conferences, etc. to find a life partner? GMAFB), chances are that you will come back with a pebble... which, we don't want, do we?
I think the best way is either through friends or in college/grad school. I generally see that someone isn't expecting anything or anyone, then boom they find it. But if you go out with the sole intention of finding someone and getting married to that Mr or Ms. Right then its harder. Y'all don't have to agree with me.
I'm not sure those avenues are right for me for the kind of girl I want to meet.I don't think I'm going to find my soulmate in a club, but then again I don't want some really religious girl. I just want someone like me, not that religious, smart, knows how to have a good time, and obviously good looking.
Psssst, please, cafe is DEFINITELY not the way to go.Maybe a girl from some other forum :p.
I'm completely open to meeting someone online but there has to be some kind of chemistry for sure.
Lusi: I'd like to see what you have on your table, you know, explore my options.lol!
Sahar02-I like your idea, how do I get in on these fundraisers?.I'm not even sure where to start and what reason do I have for being there even if I'm not dedicated to the charity in any way whatsoever. Is this something you've done or experienced first hand?
Welll...if ur looking for marriage (and i know ur ont gona like this) but why not go to your parents?
Generally speaking, they DO want the best for their child... and no not all guys who go the arranged route are losers (believe me...theres a distinction :p). but then again u know ur parents and what they will go for vs what you want...so who are we to say. but yeah...whatever.
Lolz..Ronery, I hope cafe girls are not offended by your statement...lol
I would say just participate in different forums and if you feel attracted to someone by their talk (of course...lol) then just hit them a pm and maybe ask for msn and try to get to know the person on a more personal level. Same goes with facebook, join communities of your interest and participate in them and if you really like a certain poster then hit them with a message. Add your friends on your fb and if you find a friend's friend attractive or something then ask your friend to maybe introduce you.
You can also try naseeb, pretty much works the same way. lol
Like everyone said try more socializing by attending PSA/MSA events or your local Pakistani association events. Maybe add yourself on the mailing list of these different social organizations and they will keep you updated with all the different events throughout the year. 14th August, Eids, and Ramzan events normally have huge turn out and if you are not people shy then you shouldn't have problem making friends. So meet people, expand your social circle. Also, try to get to know people at your local masjid.
And yeah we always have the option of arrange marriage...lol... I am not a big fan of it...lol...not that it is a bad thing...lol... but yeah whatever...lol
