It seems there is a trend in Bollywood for the stars’ wives to become a designer.
We have many such actors in Bollywood whose wives are interior designer, jewellery designer or fashion designer.
And then there are wives who started their career with Bollywood but finally ended as being a designer after their marriage. And these are mostly the actresses who could not make a mark in Bollywood so zeroed down as a designer.

Twinkle Khanna, daughter of famous yesteryear actress Dimple Kapadia, embarked her career as an actress in Bollywood. She did movies like ‘Barsaat’, ‘Mela’, ‘Jab Pyar Kisi Se Hota’, ‘Badshah’ and ‘International Khiladi’ but couldn’t manage to get a strong foot in the industry. After her marriage with Akshay Kumar she started working as an interior designer.

Suzanne Khan Roshan wife of Hrithik Roshan had never been into acting. She is daughter of former actor Sanjay Khan. Alike Twinkle Khanna, Suzanne is also an interior designer. Interestingly, Suzanne’s mother Zarine Khan was also an interior designer. She is the owner of Suzaane Roshan’s House of Design. Folks, she has designed the homes of actresses Rani Mukherjee and Priyanka Chopra.

Neelam Kothari was an actress-vj and has a long list of movies to her credit. Some of her famous movies are ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’, ‘Ek Ladka Ek Ladki’, ‘Parampara’, ‘Agneepath’ , ‘Do Qaidi’ and many more . Neelam has a traditional jewellery family business and this could be one of the reasons that she later established herself as a jewellery desigher. The most recent is Manyata, Sanjay Dutt’s wife to become a designer. She too started her career in bollywood with some short roles and doing item numbers. After being away from Bollywood for long she was later found to be marrying Sanjay. And now she is going to launch her own designs of sarees and jewellery.
