He is the selfless dignatory of our country. In his case, the Award should be considered fortunate, IBA and Karachi university (two institution which awarded honorary doctrate to Moulana Edhi ) should consider themselves lucky
Read something about this awhile back, written by Jamil Uddin Aali in urdu akhbar, it was interesting, can’t copy paste, so i would translate it later, depending on my mood.

He is the only person who many of pakistanis can trust blindly and rightly. Sadly not many so called leaders of the country have 10% of Edhiness in them.

Funniest thing is that during the Karachi 'operation' of the 90s under the auspices BB and Naseerullah Khan Babur, Edhi was labelled a trader of human organs -- selling human kidneys etc. The propaganda against him was so severe that he had to flee the country. I read his statement then; he feared for his life.

I remember that, we are so fond of overlooking the good job done and pick on something really minor and make a mole-hill out of it.

Actually, it wasn't the citizenry that disparaged him, it was the military apparatus of the BB govt. It's their modus oper andi: they villify personalities in public (accuse them of high crimes - treason, even organ harvesting & selling) before literally cutting them down.

Abdus Satar Edhi is most adored and resptected personality of Pakistan. He is a selfless humantarian and philanthropist… serving humanity for past 50 years.
Among many services for less privilaged and deprived soul, he manages the biggest network of radio connected volunteer ambulances service, in the whole world.
He himself drives ambulance for living, besides managing activities of this multi million dollar charity organisation.

Edhi is my biggest hero. I feel very strongly and passionately about his work , his life and the Edhi foundation. My biggest fear is that he might pass away. Just thinking about it makes me feel uncomfortable and i dont feel this way about any body outside my family. God bless him for everything he has done. He definately deserves a lot more recognition and honor. Even though he doesnt care about such petty things. I love the man.
