Anyone seen it ? What did y’all think ? I really liked the songs in the movie. I thought the choice of clothes and colours was exceptional. Like a real vivid dream..
Tabu did a great job acting…as usual..

Sources say that trouble arose when the All-India Ulema Council objected to the qawalli track “Noor-un-ala-noor” from the film. The song, penned by Hussain himself, shows Tabu dancing against the backdrop of a number of dancers dressed as dervishes.
The council has raised objection to the phrase Noor-un-ala-noor meaning ‘light and more light’. The phrase is used in the holy Quran to praise the holy Prophet Hazrat Mohammed-e- mustapha :saw: but it has been used to illustrate the beauty of women in Hussain’s film. ![]()
With their religious sentiments hurt, the council has even filed a complaint with the Mumbai police and had asked them to take stringent action.
In response, Hussain has decided to withdraw his films from cinema halls. *
They showed this song today on some Punjabi/Silh program broadcast from California. Pretty good song. No idea why the Ulema dint like like, but Hussain immediately agreed to their wishes and stopped the release of the film. Looks like film would be released without the song.
