Re: Medical question - Adults only please.

A fungal infection.......... part of my right foot had caught it when I went to the beach and walked bare feet on the sand when a little cut was already present on my little finger. It got extremely itchy and I kept applying different ointments believing that it was cause the salty sand came in contact with the present bruise there. I got worried when the itchiness became unbearable and the effected area (which had spread till the quarter of the foot) became visible cz of its odd color from the rest of the foot skin.

That's when I visited a dermatologist and he gave me some strong capsules to swallow for 2 months and also a skin ointment to apply three times a day. I threw away the prescription after I finished the course. I still have the ointment though but since I've shifted to another town recently, it's lost somewhere in my unpacked luggage so...... I would post the name here as soon as I find it. It was a fine ointment as there is absolutely no mark or discoloration left on my foot now. It's just as before. Although, I was too late to go to a doctor.

This question is for adults only and if you are disgusted easily, please don't read ahead.

3 months ago I had jock itch. If you don't know what that is, it's like athletes foot, but in the groin region (around the region where legs meet your body). The jock itch is gone now, but it left dark patches of skin around my groin area. It's not easily noticable, but a closer looks shows something "weird" happened here.

Ok here is the question. I went to the doctor and he told me that the dark patches of skin cannot be removed, they are here to stay. I am going to get married in a year or two (just a prediction). How exactly am I gonna explain this to the girl? Won't she notice these dark patches of skin and ask what the hell happened here? Won't she be disgusted? She'll probably think I have an STD or something.

Please don't give me unreasonable answers like "Talk to the girl about it before marriage", because you know and I know that talking about sex in an arranged marriage isn't really possible, or even advisable.

Shahreen, you crack me up....it is true it is a skin condition. This is perfect place to start runors and totkay :)

yeah man its not like youve lost your left testicle or something.

as opposed to losing the right one??? :konfused:

which reminds me, hahahaha a good friend of mine, had to get an operation done because there was jammed nerve ending on one of his testicles, and he couldnt walk properly for days. and he very proudly tells us about it, and the other day we had to go to the hospital for something, and hes like,oh yeah this is where i came for my op. :smack: hes so besharam.

i advise you to ask for a second opinion..there's something called dermovate which is supposed to work for stuff like this i think..it lightens skin..LADIES DON'T GO BUY THIS AND THINK ITS GONNA MAKE YOU FAIRER..AS GOES FOR SOME OF THE MEN HERE......yeah so back that..it shud work..but since its in a sensitive area..i suggest u bring it up with another skin specialist..otherwise..try it out..u can get it online i think on one those canada pharmacy things for cheaper..tho im not sure if its prescription or not..a friend of mine had something similar to this on her legs..and she used it..and kinda went away..but i heard..u can't use it for long periods of time..like use it..give it a rest..and then use it again..but like a said..get a second opinion.

I think I will go to a dermatologist and get a definite answer (as if there is such a thing in the medical field). That way, if he wants to do tests and what not, atleast I will know for sure.
