I work as a domestic staff in a london hospital half of the doctors are either indian or pakistani who graduated from their countries. therefore there must be big scope for your cousin. And looks like these doctors earn big money as well!!!

^^^ well i guess the house job need to be done in Pak first to have any practise here after clearing IELTS, PLAB 1 and PLAB2 . These are required to find a job in UK for NHS hospitals

Re: Medical opportunities for Medical students in the UK ..

Shak, its very helpful thanks mate... please can you let me know abit more details ? so lets says the house job is done in pakistan , and ielts ,plab1 nd 2 are cleared , what visa do they normally come on? coz i think they changed the immigration rules quite alot ...

I also heard that there is this 6 month contract system for the junior doctors ... where the contracts gets extended or not .. and its hard for them to find a permanent job?

I have tried so hard to find some details , but you know how the UK is , they never have any info in place !

Re: Medical opportunities for Medical students in the UK ..

well PLAB 2 is only conducted in UK, so one has to apply for PLAB visa type, that lasts for 6 months. to get the GMC registration then you require to have some clinical attachment and possible locum post for some days. previously it was easy to get training job as junior doctor on training, now it all become under work permit category.

so i guess possiblity it work permit if a NHS trust does sponsor for it, then secondly its high skilled migrant visa thats now in some tier 1, 2, 3, 4 etc. as UK sort out its visa systems.
