Medical Insurance in Canada

I am looking for a reliable insurance company to purchase medical for my parents. Has anyone purchased it in Ontario? Something which would cover drugs and physiotherapy.

Re: Medical Insurance in Canada

Isn’t it free in canada?

Re: Medical Insurance in Canada

It is free here, but it is fairly crap especially if you are really ill and need to have tests done ASAP.

Re: Medical Insurance in Canada

not drugs and therapies
Only clinical and hospital expenses are free including tests etc

Re: Medical Insurance in Canada

Try Graypower Insurance. My parents had it for all of us. We never had to use it except for dental and prescriptions.

I think 21st Century is a good one.. try that... it's a subsidary of Mutual Life...

our company uses Great West Life...check it out..

Re: Medical Insurance in Canada

^ Same here. What I like about GWL is that they give you bonus money depending on your lifestyle. So you get to use those extra funds to cover the other 20% (if you have 80% insurance coverage) ... but that is only until those funds run out. Mind you, that is our company insurance so I don't know if it is the same on an individual basis.

Re: Medical Insurance in Canada

yeah..we also have a healthcare spending account..actually i chose to opt out of the plan (more $ in my pocket) and instead use my HSA. the good thing about that HSA, that if i dont end up using the whole amount in one year, they add it to the next year, but only upto 2 years do they add on.
